Stacking the Shelves / In My Mailbox

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature/meme by Tynga’s Reviews and In My Mailbox has a new home on The Mod Podge Bookshelf.  Both are fun ways for bloggers to share the books they have received in the past week.

Published May 31st 2013

Summary:

He’s arrogant, domineering, and... To. Die. For.

Hunter is a ruthless killer. And the Department of Defense has him firmly in their grasp, which usually doesn’t chafe too badly because he gets to kill bad guys. Most of the time he enjoys his job. That is, until he’s saddled with something he’s never had to do before: protect a human from his mortal enemy.

Serena Cross didn’t believe her best friend when she claimed to have seen the son of a powerful senator turn into something... unnatural. Who would? But then she witnesses her friend’s murder at the hands of what can only be an alien, thrusting her into a world that will kill to protect their secret.

Hunter stirs Serena’s temper and her lust despite their differences. Soon he’s doing the unthinkable—breaking the rules he’s lived by, going against the government to keep Serena safe. But are the aliens and the government the biggest threats to Serena’s life… or is it Hunter?

Invisibility by Andrea Cremer
Published May 7th 2013

Summary:

Stephen
has been invisible for practically his whole life — because of a curse his grandfather, a powerful cursecaster, bestowed on Stephen’s mother before Stephen was born. So when Elizabeth moves to Stephen’s NYC apartment building from Minnesota, no one is more surprised than he is that she can see him. A budding romance ensues, and when Stephen confides in Elizabeth about his predicament, the two of them decide to dive headfirst into the secret world of cursecasters and spellseekers to figure out a way to break the curse. But things don’t go as planned, especially when Stephen’s grandfather arrives in town, taking his anger out on everyone he sees. In the end, Elizabeth and Stephen must decide how big of a sacrifice they’re willing to make for Stephen to become visible — because the answer could mean the difference between life and death. At least for Elizabeth.

Both of these books sound amazing to me. I'm a fan of Jennifer L. Armentrout, so of course I HAD to get OBSESSION! It's a crossover novel from her Lux Series, but geared for the New Adult genre. And then Invisibility by Andrea Cremer just sounded so fun that i decided to pick it up as well. The blurb about the secret world of cursecasters and spellseekers has me really intrigued.
