Hey Everyone. Welcome to my stop of the RUNES book tour! I've had the opportunity to read RUNES by Ednah Walters and absolutley enjoyed it! RUNES is Ednah's first book in her new young adult series. Summary:

My Thoughts:
I have to say this is my first book by Ednah Walters, and I was pleasantly surprised. Being a fan of of all things Paranormal, the blurb for RUNES really caught my attention. I was excited to read something a little different and the fact that RUNES is a Young Adult series and one that features Norse mythology just made it that more fascinating to me.
The Setting and Summary:
Ednah Walters does a great job of creating a unique setting in RUNES by combining hints of Norse mythology ( think Valkyries, but with both male and female guardians and warriors) and add to it your typical everyday teenage drama. Sounds good right? Now throw in a hot Harley-riding guy, some Swoon-Worthy romance, and plenty of action and you get Raine
Cooper's life in RUNES.
Raine Cooper is trying to deal with the disappearance of her father, a loving mother who keeps talking to herself in the mirror, and the possibility of her boyfriend moving away, when all hell seems to break loose. Her new neighbor literally rides into her life on a Harley and is so hot Raine can't seem to talk to him with out staring at all his yummy-ness. But something is very different about her mysterious and sexy new neighbor. Torrin seems to know a lot more about Raine than he should. Suddenly Torrin is going to her school and in most of her classes. Torrin is everywhere Raine is.
When Torrin mysteriously heals Raine after a near tragic accident, she knows that there is something different about her, especially when she sees strange Runes upon her body. Torrin has marked her, and Raine needs answers fast about who and what St. James is and why he has done this to her.
It was such a nice change to read a Young Adult book where I really liked both of the main characters and enjoyed the secondary characters as well. Raine Cooper was very likable character, and easy to relate to. It was fun seeing Torrin St. James through her eyes, especially when he was throwing out so much charm to her. But, I also sympathized with her losses and felt how frighten she was at times during some intense scenes involving fighting. Raine goes through lots of changes as well as her friends and Torrin.
Torrin St. James is definitely hot, and of the other-world type. I really enjoyed Torrin's character, and loved that not only was he totally into Raine and really cared bout her feelings, but that he was also tough and bad-ass too, especially when the time came to get down and dirty.
Swoon Factor: Crush. Yes, there is some nice kissing scenes, along with lot's of great verbal banter and some heated looks to keep romance fans happy!

He lifted hair from my neck, lowered his head, and pressed a kiss on my exposed neck. Warmth pulsed through me. “Is he the first person you think about when you wake up in the morning and the last one you think about before you fall asleep?”
The Ending:
WOW, the ending was great, but caught me off guard with a nice little twist ending. Now I'm eagerly awaiting book two, IMMORTALS. I'm hoping to see some more surprises about Raine Cooper's heritage and more about Torrin St. James!
