Book Summary
Enter a world of gargoyle protectors, rising demons and one girl with an explosive secret.
Eighteen-year-old Trinity Marrow may be going blind, but she can see and communicate with ghosts and spirits. Her unique gift is part of a secret so dangerous that she’s been in hiding for years in an isolated compound fiercely guarded by Wardens—gargoyle shape-shifters who protect humankind from demons. If the demons discover the truth about Trinity, they’ll devour her, flesh and bone, to enhance their own powers.
When Wardens from another clan arrive with disturbing reports that something out there is killing both demons and Wardens, Trinity’s safe world implodes. Not the least because one of the outsiders is the most annoying and fascinating person she’s ever met. Zayne has secrets of his own that will upend her world yet again—but working together becomes imperative once demons breach the compound and Trinity’s secret comes to light. To save her family and maybe the world, she’ll have to put her trust in Zayne. But all bets are off as a supernatural war is unleashed.

Review
When I pick up a book by Jennifer L. Armentrout I know I am going to be entertained with a great story full of interesting characters, especially swoony boys and lots of yummy banter.
I know I'll find between the covers an imperfect heroine to relate to— one full of inner strength and tenacity to admire, plus plenty of danger and action scenes where the good guys are battling the bad guys.
The Harbinger Series series opener was a must read for me since I needed to know what happened with a certain gorgeous and protective Warden in the last installment of the Dark Elements series.
Would a certain Demon Prince and his familiar, Bambi make an appearance? I was definitely not disappointed and fans should look for cameos but new readers can feel completely comfortable jumping into this new series.
The story is set in the same contemporary fantasy world as her Dark Elements series. Gargoyle shapeshifters, known as Wardens, are sworn to guard humanity against the evils of the underworld, namely unruly demons and their minion sidekicks.
This is a classic boy meets girl story, but with plenty of supernaturals thrown in. You can look forward to Gargoyles, Demons, Angels, Witches, and even Ghosts.
Armentrout's signature writing style with plenty of snark and heartfelt moments rounds the story out while supernaturals battle it out.
I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in the series. Fans of the White Hot Kiss series should not miss this spin-off and new fans can definitely find themselves with a new series to swoon over.
