SWOONING FOR ALL THINGS BOOKISH.
Book Review: The Beast's Heart by Leife Shallcross
Filled with romantic writing THE BEASTโS HEART delivers an enchanting retelling of Beauty and the Beast told from the beastโs perspective.
A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
A Curse So Dark and Lonely is a reimagining of the Beauty and the Beast tale featuring a dark curse placed upon a prince which forces him to relive his eighteenth year over and over again. The curse turns him into a vicious beast at the year's end while dooming him to repeat acts of violence and destruction until the curse is broken by true love.
Beast: A Tale of Love and Revenge by Lisa Jensen
Beast: A Tale of Love and Revenge by Lisa Jensen reinvents the classic "Beauty and the Beast" tale into something darker and more layered. In the Author's Notes, Jenning's mentions how she wanted to give readers the Beast as a hero and a new heroine, one who wanted to preserve the Beast and who could open her heart to him. Beast: A Tale of Love and Revenge is aptly named. Having read and enjoyed Alias Hook by Lisa Jensen, I knew I wanted to read this retelling.
Radiance by Grace Draven
Today was Ildiko's wedding day, and if she managed not to retch on herself or a guest, she'd consider the entire event a resounding success.
Radiance reminded me to never judge a book only by its cover. I could have missed out on such an exceptional fantasy romance if I hadn't looked beyond the meh cover. This is my first read by the author Grace Drave, one that is continually recommended to me and I finally got the chance to discover her wonderful writing.
