SWOONING FOR ALL THINGS BOOKISH.
The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon
THE WINTER PEOPLE is a dark and haunting blend of writing which combines elements of a suspense novel with that of a supernatural horror-thriller.
Review: Trace of Evil (Natalie Lockhart #1) by Alice Blanchard
TRACE OF EVIL is the first book in the Natalie Lockhart series. It features a plucky new rooky detective and a murder mystery that takes place in a small, New England town where secrets abound.
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
THE CRUEL PRINCE by Holly Back is the first book in The Folk of Air series for young adult readers. This is a read filled with spying, stabbing, and scheming. A dark fantasy that features an exciting new heroine set in the unpredictable realm of the Fae.
Zero Repeat Forever by G. S. Prendergast
A dark and gritty sci-fi, Zero Repeat Forever ended up being an addicting read. It was also a much slower read than I prefer, but I found Eighth and Raven's characters so compelling, so heart-wrenching at times (especially Eighth's) that I just had a hard time putting the book down.
